The Best Twitter Accounts for Deals

  • Saving Money in 140 Characters or Less

Earlier this year, Twitter attempted to create an official account called @earlybird to promote great deals every day, only to pull the plug on it shortly after because it didn’t gain too much attention. Even without an official account though, there is still a seemingly endless amount of deals advertised on Twitter every day from other users. You just need to know where to look. We’ve rounded up 10 of our favorite Twitter accounts for finding freebies and deals on everything from clothing and fast food to flights and gadgets. Photo Credit:

Last week alone, this account highlighted deals to get 30% off on any purchase from Nautica, 25% off at the Gap and 75% off winter boots from Be sure to follow this account in the lead up to Black Friday (Nov. 26), as it’s sure to have plenty of bargains. • FreeStuffRocks

It’s hard to disagree with the premise of this account. Free stuff does rock, and this account, which is culled from the forums on, gets the scoop on tons of daily freebies. Last week, they tweeted about 7-11 giving away free cups of coffee this month, as well as free samples of Taster’s Choice coffee and a free DVD at a Blockbuster Express kiosk. That said, there are only so many good items given away each day, so there are also plenty of duds that you may want to ignore (unless you’re lactose intolerant, of course) like that free sample of Lactaid fast act dietary supplements. Fun! Follow @FreeStuffRocks
  • SurvivingStores

The SurvivingStores account is administered by a mother from Texas who runs a blog about coupons and deals in the retail world since 2008. She rounds up deals each week from big chains like Wal-Mart and Amazon, and digs up promotions and coupons for many other smaller stores. Last week, she tweeted about a 50% off sale at Kohls, free coffee from Bruegger’s and a deal to get two shirts from Rue La La for just $1.75. Follow @SurvivingStores
  • CouponTweet

CouponTweet doesn’t update quite as often as some of the other accounts on our list, but when they do, it’s usually a pretty great deal. Most recently, they tweeted a 20% off deal for all books at Borders and up to 40% off select items at Patagonia, an outdoor clothing chain. Follow @CouponTweet
  • AmazonDeals

Amazon has so many deals each week that it can be hard to keep track of them all. That’s why this account is so useful.
