Wonderbra Unveils 3-D Billboard

In what could be the best – or stupidest – use of 3-D technology yet, Wonderbra this morning debuted its new “Full Effect” bra with an enormous 3-D billboard outside Waterloo Station in London.

You’ll need to have a pair of 3-D glasses to fully appreciate the company’s newest lingerie, of course. And since most people don’t walk around wearing 3-D specs, it’s obviously little more than a PR stunt (and one that apparently worked, since we’re writing about it).

The billboard is not without its detractors, however. Wonderbra UK’s official Facebook page called the ad “traffic stopping,” and that’s just what some people are worried about.

“I think it will be a distraction for men and women on the road,” Vince Yarley of the Institute of Advanced Motorists told the Daily Mail. “And you just need to lose concentration briefly while on the road and an accident could happen.”

This is not the first time concerns have been raised over distracting ads. A previous Wonderbra billboard starring model Eva Herzigová was blamed for dozens of car accidents in the 1990s, according to the Daily Mail. And several U.S. cities have banned digital billboards over fears that they distract drivers.
