Wal-Mart (Stock Quote: WMT) is doing everything in its power to steal customers from other stores this Black Friday.
First, the chain announced it would open at midnight on Black Friday, earlier than usual, and that it would offer some insane door-buster deals, including a 32” HDTV for a mere $198. Now, the company is going one step further.
Wal-Mart announced Monday that it will match prices on any product offered by other retailers this Black Friday.
"Customers simply bring in competitors’ ads and Walmart will match the price of any identical product right at the register, making Walmart the easiest place to save this holiday season,” the company said in a press release. “Walmart’s ability to easily price match competitors’ ads right at the checkout registers mean our customers will save time and money on Nov. 26.”
So no matter how insane other stores’ promotions may be, Wal-Mart will match it if they carry the item. That means you better start printing out Best Buy’s ad for a Nintendo Wii listed at $169 or the DVDs on sale at Kmart for $4.Unfortunately, in the fine print, the company notes that the price match does not apply to purchases on its website, meaning you will actually have to brave the crowds and make your way into the store itself. And thanks to this new promotion, there will definitely be crowds.
