New Balance is doing a clever little promotion in New York. The company is opening a flagship store in the city, and as part of the promotional effort it’s running an augmented reality game that uses your smartphone. To participate, get the “Urban Dash” app from iPhone app store, then from Aug. 11 to Sept. 10, virtual “batons” will appear on the map. The idea is that you have to run to the baton and “check in” when you’re within 100 feet to win prizes, including free shoes and a chance to win $20,000. The full details are explained in this video.
