NEW YORK (MainStreet) –Staples offers a bunch of back-to-school items for just $1 in its weekly circular. Among them are clipboards, mini composition books and hole punches, all of which can be had for a buck in stores only. You’re limited to two of each item, and only while supplies last. If $1 is too much to pay for back-to-school supplies, you can also get a five-pack of Bic highlighters for free when you fill out an online rebate form. The deals are only good through Saturday.

If your kid is going to college, Target has a load of coupons on the items he or she is likely to need. The printable coupons range from 50 cents off a roll of tape to $5 off coffee makers more than $30. While you’re there, check out Target’s weekly ad, with deals on notebooks, colored pencils and other back-to-school items available through Saturday.

OfficeMax offers a 14-item back to school supply bundle, which it says is worth $50, for $24.99. It also claims that the kit “includes everything students need,” which is probably a bit of an exaggeration, but there are some useful items here, including folders, Kleenex, a ruler and scotch tape. This is an online-only deal that’s only available while supplies last, and there’s a limit of one per customer. Shipping adds $7.95, though if you get another $25 worth of items the whole thing will ship for free.

If you order more than $50 of school supplies at Walgreens.com, you can get an extra $10 off when you use the code FAMILY10. The code is good through 11:59 p.m. CDT Saturday, and can be used up to three times per account. Shipping is free on most items when you spend more than $25 – just make sure it says “Free Standard Shipping Eligible” or “Ships for Free” when checking out. The full selection of back to school items can be found here.
