The position: Vice president of PR and Communications for Converse
Location: North Andover, Mass.
Job duties: Will drive PR strategies and brand awareness among consumer segments through music and film/fashion media. Creates top level global communications plans and develops strategies for communicating the brand message to key sports, lifestyle, consumer and media influencers. Also responsible for placing products with key influencers such as athletes, celebrities, etc. Develops high-profile events and acts as a Converse media spokesperson. Handles media inquiries and interview requests. Will work in conjunction with Nike corporate media relations for all business and investor relations issues on behalf of Converse.

Requirements: College degree required, with an MBA preferred. Must have 10 to 20 years experience in public relations, communications and/or publicity for a major consumer brand or sports company. Background must demonstrate ability to create and carry out strategic PR plans, integrated marketing programs and related events. Requires proven ability to create and deliver corporate statements and materials on an executive level. Must have extremely strong leadership skills, and be an excellent networker with a contact list of key influencers. Ideal candidate will have an established reputation with major media outlets.Extra perks: Your job will involve interacting with top-name athletes, music artists and other celebrities. You will also be traveling 20% of the time.
