The position: Senior social media specialist for PlayStation
Location: Foster City, Calif.
Job duties: Will be responsible for most of the day-to-day operations of the PlayStation blog and related content streams on YouTube, iTunes and other sites. This person will be expected to help enhance the program and broaden its reach by offering new ideas for the social media program. Will also be required to develop and maintain relationships with industry bloggers as well as internal company contacts. Must also be able to help enhance and expand the current inventory of media resources such as video, photo and other multimedia elements. Specific duties include copy editing, fact-checking and moderating posts/comments. Will also produce a bimonthly audio podcast.

Requirements: A college degree in communications or equivalent work experience is required, along with four years of experience in electronic media with a branded blog or Web site. Must have excellent written communication skills. Knowledge of current video game landscape is preferred. Good interpersonal skills are essential because this position involves dealing with the public. Ideal candidate will have skills in a diverse range of Web tasks, including HTML and video production. Must be comfortable appearing on camera and preferably have experience conducting on-camera interviews.
