The position: Logistics planner for Home Depot (Stock Quote: HD)
Job duties: Coordinate Home Depot's inbound truckload movements to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of merchandise from vendors to company stores, transit facilities and distribution centers. Will be responsible for managing 30 to 60 vendors and overseeing carrier management with attention to budget, service and capacity. Will play an important role in managing the freight budget. A major priority will be truck consolidation. Job duties include maintaining current rate structure for carriers and negotiating new rates as needed. Position also involves responsibility for network analysis.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Should have experience in logistics and/or transportation. Must be an aggressive, self-motivated team player who can work well in a self-managed environment. Must be able to manage competing demands and meet constant deadlines. Transportation industry knowledge is preferred. Requires proficient computer skills and excellent verbal and written skills.
