The position: Greek life adviser/student affairs officer for University of California San Diego
Location: San Diego
Job duties: Provides management and direction for the Greek Life community. Leads and advises on issues specific to the greek community, including on-campus programming as well as risk and liability management. Oversees all administrative, policy, leadership development and program functions involving three governing councils, honors societies, partner programs and 40 sorority and fraternity chapters with a total membership of 2,000 students. Responsible for strategic development of long- and short-term goals. The job also involves collecting and analyzing data and to develop policy recommendations. Serves as university representative for greek alumni organizations, chapter adviser groups, community groups and individual fraternities and sororities.

Requirements: A master's degree in higher education or a related field is required. The candidate must also possess at least three years of experience advising greek communities, a knowledge of greek systems, national and regional trends, policies, procedures, governance and recruitment processes. The candidate should be able to provide guidance and advice in all aspects of program planning, budget implementation, leadership development and problem solving. The candidate should also have experience with computer based applications involving database management and e-mail.
