The position: Fire protection engineer for the National Fire Protection Association

Location: Quincy, Mass.

Job duties:
Assists technical committees in the development and maintenance of standards in the fire protection systems engineering fields and promotes the application of these standards as the recognized means of improving fire safety. Develops the content and format for NFPA seminars. Studies fire record data and develops information on pertinent fire incidents and fire hazards. Assists in fire investigations conducted by NFPA. Serves as principle liaison with federal, state and local officials for adoption support.

The company: The National Fire Protection Association is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing fire protection codes and standards, research, training and education.

Requirements: This job requires a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree being a plus. Applicants must have at least three to five years of direct work experience in fire protection engineering fields. The role also requires excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with both technical committees and internal staff in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of the NFPA Codes and Standards Making process preferred.

Extra perks: This position involves travel up to 30% of the time.
