The position: Director of video for Edmunds.com

Location: Santa Monica, California

Job duties: The director of video will oversee the strategic direction and production for the company's video content across all properties and platforms. He or she will manage the video production team and build the video department, work with other departments on video development and implementation and track results of the efforts. The director also partners with senior executives and property owners to continually refine the video strategy and execution. The director will recruit new talent, guide team members and help maintain an innovative and cohesive atmosphere.

Requirements: This position requires bachelor's degree in film, video, journalism or related fields or equivalent experience. Candidates must have at least five years of experience with production and distribution of online video, plus three or more years in a management position. A background with the automotive industry is preferred. The job requires an excellent understanding of digital media and experience with developing and implementing strategies to meet current and future market needs, and candidates must have strong leadership and operational skills, along with experience managing staff members and cross-functional projects. Of course, applicants should be familiar with both the hardware and software of modern video production.
