The position: Braille program specialist for Library of Congress

Location: Washington, D.C.

Job duties:
Actively engages in developing Braille policy. Plans liaison activities for important programs with national or international impact in the field of Braille. Promotes Braille literacy for children and adults. Drafts and evaluates articles on Braille matters. Drafts and delivers speeches concerning public relations activities related to Braille. Designs public information including press releases, fact sheets, newsletters and other briefing documents. Serves as a consultant for Braille-reading consumers.

Requirements: Requires progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to provide an acceptable level of knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Interesting info: The pay range for this position is $74,872 to $97,333 per year. Applicants with no prior federal service will usually be paid near the minimum level of the range.
