Window shopping can reveal more than the season’s latest looks; it can also make clear which retail companies are worth investing in. On today's edition of Random Acts of Fashion, Kristin Bentz takes a look at J. Crew (JCG) and the Gap to see how well their windows reflect their company's standings on Wall Street. 

One store's displays are light and bright. The other's is dark and bohemian. Do their balance sheets reflect these styles? Well, let's just say if the Gap's earnings fall short this week, at least one woman will be able to say she saw it coming.
