Today's the Day: ‘Sex and the City’ Movie Ticket Scalper Watch

Finally! Sex and the City’s (TWX) audience is ready to see the fabulous foursome on the big screen but, will their enthusiasm be enough to elevate the movie version of HBO's hit show to blockbuster status? In other words can fashionistas conquer that fedora-wearing whip cracker and take the top spot at the weekend box office?

If they do, it will be thanks to the enthusiasm of the show's mostly female audience, according to a recent poll by Fandango. The movie ticket buying service reveals that 94% of the advanced ticket buyers are women, and that only 6% said they were going with a man to see the film. Meanwhile, a recent poll conducted by Canadian Club Whiskey states that 41% of men "would not be caught dead at that movie."

While some women are snatching up tickets at the box office, plenty of others are getting theirs on Craigslist. New York City’s section of the internet auction site features a number of people (they could be men or women) looking to buy and sell for different showings this weekend.
