The Fast Food Desserts With the Most Calories

Counting Calories

In New York and a few other locales, counting calories is easy. Every large chain restaurant is required to list calorie and fat content on its menu for each item. And while similar menu rules are on the way for the rest of the country as a result of the health care reform law, for now most of America isn’t being presented with nutrition information when they go out to eat.

And that’s especially troublesome when it comes to dessert. Sure, everyone knows that ice cream and mammoth chocolate shakes aren’t good for you. But we’d imagine many people would opt for a fruit cup if they saw the nutrition info associated with the dessert offerings of some fast food restaurants. We’d recommend checking out the nutrition info on these chain’s websites to see how your favorites stack up. But for now, to show you just how bad it can be, we’ve looked at the nation’s biggest fast food chains to find the top 11 desserts with the most calories.

Please note that when there are several versions of a line of desserts offered by a given chain (for instance, Dairy Queen's line of Blizzards), we’ve only listed the highest-calorie offering.

This was the unhealthiest of DQ’s lineup of Blizzards, which also includes the Georgia Mud Fudge (1,450 calories) the French Silk Pie (1,320). I don’t know why you would make fudge out of mud or a pie out of silk, but I don’t have a good grasp on French or Georgian cuisine.
