EXTENDED CARE

Are You Prepared for a Health Care Crisis?

1. Your health insurance coverage is...
Nonexistent. I’m young, healthy, and don’t want to spare the extra expense.
Expensive and doesn’t cover much, but I’m not sure how I can do better.
Up to date and able to cover all of my health care needs.

2. The idea of preparing your will makes you feel...
Horrible—it’s far too morbid to contemplate.
Scared, you know you should do something about it, but you haven’t yet made a will.
Sad but secure, knowing your wishes will be carried out in the event of your passing.

3. What type of insurance can replace your income if you aren’t around to provide it?
No clue, but the idea of a rich uncle sounds pretty sweet right now.
I haven’t purchased it yet, but life insurance would cover this need if I could afford a policy.
My life insurance policy will pay off all of our existing debts and support my family until my children are out of college.

4. If you become unable to care for yourself...
I’m sure my loved ones will care for me.
My health insurance policy should cover my long-term care needs, too.
My long-term care insurance policy will provide in-home or nursing home care, depending on my needs.

5. You’ve just been told you have a serious illness. Your financial record-keeping system is . .
Scattered to the four winds, and there are other things to worry about right now.
A hodgepodge of information I could organize in a few hours.
A system of paper and electronic files that are properly stored and backed up for easy access at any time.
