They’re less than 30 days old, but Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt have already generated more money that most Americans will see in a lifetime. People magazine (TWX) reportedly paid $14 million for exclusive baby photos of the newest additions to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s brood, and the couple says the proceeds are earmarked to go straight to charity.

According to spokespeople from www.cambodiaschools.com, the cost to build a five room rural school in Cambodia is estimated at $60,000. However, a $13,000 donation is matched by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, doubling the potential benefits.

Ethiopia: (Daughter Zahara’s country of origin)
What began in 2004 as a collaborative effort between two Czech humanitarian organizations to build schools has continued to gain support and attract attention to the lack of sufficient education for children in Ethiopia. According to the Czech foundation’s official website, www.skolavafrice.cz/e, the cost to build an elementary school with a library, lavatory, administrative office, and school laboratory is $225,951.79.

The reported $14 million could cover the cost of almost 62 schools!

The prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Namibia is over 21% within the adult population, and the United Nations Children’s Fund estimates that nearly half of Namibia’s orphans lost their parents to the disease. As a responsive effort, SOS Children’s Villages supervises Namibian children who are responsible for running their homes and raising younger siblings. For $20 a month, “SOS” will work towards furthering education and providing housing for Namibian children.
