Outback Offering Free Bloomin’ Onions Today

NEW YORK (MainStreet) – Today is the first day of spring, and Outback Steakhouse is celebrating by giving away the appetizer that made it famous.

That’s right: Today you can go to the Outback and get a Bloomin’ Onion for free. The deal is good today only all Outback locations in the US and Puerto Rico, and all you need to do is say the phrase “bloom into spring” to your server. Though we’re sure if you just said “can I have a free Bloomin’ Onion,” they would oblige you without making you say the secret code phrase. There’s a limit of one order per table.

The deal is good for both dine-in and take-away, and while there’s no purchase necessary, we’re hoping you won’t order a Bloomin’ Onion and a glass of water and walk out without ordering anything else. Still, we suppose that’s your right as an American if that’s the way you want to play it.

Finally, note that the promotion is good only while supplies last, and we suppose there’s a chance that the promotion will touch off a run on Bloomin’ Onions and your local Outback will get cleaned out. Still, the Outback running out of Bloomin’ Onions would be like the Olive Garden running out of breadsticks, so it doesn’t seem likely.
