Each year, Americans experience the joy of getting a free pancake meal from IHOP for National Pancake Day. Unfortunately, that only happens once a year, and for the next 11 months, our appetite for free delicious pancakes remains unfulfilled, leaving us to wallow in a cold pancake-less depression. Or maybe that’s just me. Still, it’s about to change.
IHOP is now offering a promotion where fans of the restaurant can get three free pancake meals spread out over the course of a year.
IHOP is asking customers to join the “pancake revolution,” which essentially just means you give the restaurant chain your e-mail address and probably have to endure a few pieces of delicious spam mail as a result.
In return, customers will get an offer for a free Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity (a short stack of pancakes with fruit on top) within 24 hours of signing up that is redeemable anytime over the following two weeks. Beyond this, members of the revolution will also get free pancakes on their birthday, and on the one-year anniversary of joining the revolution, as well as updates about other offers and promotions.
In case you’re wondering what the pancake revolution is, its guiding principle, according to IHOP’s website, is pretty straightforward: give “pancakes to the people.” So when you’re gorging yourself on free pancakes, you can say you’re eating for a cause.
