Plenty of restaurant and fast food chains are celebrating Tax Day by offering free or discounted treats today, and there’s non-food free stuff to be found elsewhere. Here are a few offers that will soften the blow of the balance you might owe the Internal Revenue Service.
Chili’s: Print out this coupon from the official Chili’s Facebook page and you can get a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of an adult entrée. You can only use one per table, and it’s good for today only.
Cinnabon: “We all know how stressful Tax Day is, but Life Needs Frosting, so let Cinnabon put some frosting on your day,” says Cinnabon on its website. Come to think of it, our day could use some frosting on it as well. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., participating restaurants will be giving two free Cinnabon bites to all guests.
Hooters: If you’re the type of person who goes to Hooters on a Monday, you can get some free wings today. When you buy an order of 10 wings, you’ll get a second order for free, in what Hooters is calling an “Instant Rebate.” You have your choice of boneless or traditional wings, though dressing is extra; visit the website for a full list of participating restaurants.
Office Depot: The office supply store has one of the few Tax Day freebies that actually has some relevance to taxes: You can print out a coupon here to make free copies of your tax forms before you mail them in. And if you’ve got some sensitive financial information lying around in the wake of tax season, another coupon on the same page will let you shred up to five pounds of paper for free.
Bruegger’s: This last one isn’t technically a freebie, but it’s pretty clever: Through the end of the day, you can get a baker’s dozen of bagels and two tubs of cream cheese for $10.40. Get it? 1040? You’ll have to “Like” Bruegger’s on Facebook and print out the coupon to get this deal.
