NEW YORK (AP) — Nuts, bamboo shoots and fish were among the potentially contaminated food products recalled this week. They joined other products like shoes and patio chairs that could make you fall and a kitchen range that could overheat.
Extensive pistachio recalls expanded during the week to include candy, cakes and pies, and snacks.
The products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
