Longer delivery times

Among the proposals under review by the postal service is increasing delivery times for first-class and priority mail by at least one day.

Officials estimate savings of upward of $1.5 billion a year by shifting more volume from air to ground delivery. Express mail, a competitor to services provided by UPS and Fedex, would not see any changes.
