How to Transition from PC to Mac
We’ve all seen the “I’m a Mac” commercials boasting the advantages of its operating system. And considering Apple (Stock Quote: AAPL) sold more Macs in the third quarter than in any other time in the company’s history, many of us are starting to believe in its superiority.

Switching from a PC to a Mac doesn’t have to be difficult or technologically cumbersome. Here are the tools to a smooth transition.
Save Time And Money
Crossover Mac
If you like the look of a Mac and still need Windows, Apple’s new Intel based computers can run Windows via Boot Camp, software that comes free with your new Mac. It supports 32-bit releases of Windows XP and Windows Vista. If you’ve already purchased software for your PC and don’t want to buy its equivalent for your new Mac, “Crossover Mac” lets you run Windows software without having to install Windows. Crossover is a commercial product sold by Codeweavers Inc. It’s based on an Open Source project called WINE. (WINE is free, but setting it up can be difficult for many of us.) Instead, Crossover Mac streamlines the process and makes installation much easier. It’s $39.95, but it’s hassle free and useful to gamers and those who don’t want to repurchase software.
Move2Mac
Getting all of your files, pictures, settings, and bookmarks from your old PC to your new computer can be a headache. That's why “Move2Mac” is so useful. It transfers settings from programs like Internet Explorer and gives you the ability to choose which file types and settings you want to move.
