The Greatest Green Gadgets Ever

If you have been looking for new ways to go green, try this new solar-powered toothbrush or this sleek solar flashlight. Plus, if you commute by car, Gadget Grrl says this must-have 4-in-1 emergency kit is the best companion.

Truly unique, this just launched Japanese Solar toothbrush uses state-of-the art technology to clean your teeth.

How it works is when light strikes the solar panel, electrons are generated. These electrons move along the lead wire from the negative pole toward the semiconductor. With the double power of a semiconductor (titanium oxide) and a solar panel, high plaque removal is realized by brushing only with water.

Next, when light strikes the wet semiconductor (using just the saliva in your mouth) electrons are generated together to move inside your mouth, creating double electrons. These double electrons remove the hydrogen ion within dental plaque allowing the dental plaque to break down, and as a result, the plaque is easier to remove -- once removed it's easier to maintain healthier teeth and gums.

For maximum effect, it is recommended that you brush for at least three minutes. And as far as the lighting, if you can see your reflection in the mirror (that is a minimum amount of light needed) you should have enough light to use the device. The product has just launched so check the Web site for availability.

Another solar solution is the BoGo Solar Flashlight. Aside from the fact that you won't have to buy regular batteries (it's powered by three standard NiCad or NiMH AA rechargeable batteries) the solar panel lasts up to 20 years.
