CollegeClickTV.com Can Save You Money
With the average cost of a four-year college hovering around $25,000 a year, parents are looking for new ways to cut costs and minimize debt.
Virtual college tours, are one such way to save. To learn more, MainStreet spoke with Glenn Pere, a twenty year marketing veteran and the founder and CEO of CollegeClickTV.com.
Main Street: What is CollegeClickTV.com?
Glenn Pere: The site is geared toward helping high school students and their parents make informed decisions about colleges-–without having to set foot on a campus first! Plus, we use a format—video-–that today’s students are highly comfortable with.
The site is designed as an informational resource with 30,000 authentic and unscripted peer-to-peer videos from students, faculty and local merchants offering thoughts on all topics applicable to college life at more than 200 college campuses across the country. By early 2009, we expect that up to 400 colleges.
MS: What motivated you to launch the site?
GP: CollegeClickTV.com was sparked by my realization of how difficult, expensive and time consuming the college search process is, characterized by a lack of a student perspective and central go-to hub for information, and by expensive application fees and cross-country campus visits.
MS: How can CollegeClickTV save you time and money?
GP: Given our current economy, it’s more important than ever to be able to ‘visit’ colleges without having to leave the house. We believe the 360 degree perspective offered on the site—from personal accounts of choosing a college to deeper dives into various course offerings and details that only people on a given campus would be familiar with—provide unique insights to teenagers and parents alike…for free.
